Children in luxury hotels – a living nightmare? We beg to differ! Being a child does not equal being messy and loud. Just as luxury does not necessarily equal white tablecloths and classical music. At Château de Montcaud, luxury is the freedom of being yourself – in a sophisticated setting.
The luxury to simply enjoy. We attach great importance to individual needs, and we love to give all our guests the attention they deserve. Enjoy the charm of our château hotel – stylish, exclusive and informal. Your children? They will be won over by nature and our amenities: trust us, away from the usual sensory overload, our estate turns into a large adventure playground. And no, they will not step on anyone's toes; surrounded by five hectares of gardens and parklands, even when we're fully booked, there is more than 700 m2 of personal space for each one of our guests at Château de Montcaud. There are also sunbeds under the trees, away from accidental splashes, and the occasional shriek of delight. And at night, the shrieks of growing pains are swallowed up by the insulation of our rooms.
gardens and parklandsroomsA question that can send chills down a parent's spine. And when you think of holidays in a French château hotel, it echoes a thousand times in your head. There is no need to lose any sleep over it: just ask our concierge, he has a list of fabulous things to do in our diverse region ready for you. Just one word of warning – the Montcaud kids are often reluctant to leave our little haven. A game of hide and seek in the park? Tennis, ping-pong, boules? Rackets and balls as well as various other outdoor toys such as badminton nets and football goals are available for you. What we don't have: a kids' club. Because family holidays are all about shared experiences and memories. If it were up to our youngest guests, a family holiday at the Château de Montcaud would be a regular fixture. Their parents are rarely this close and relaxed in everyday life.
regionThe perfect day on the western end of Provence could look something like this:
Breakfast is served from 7.30 a.m., for the early risers, until 10.30 a.m., for the more leisurely ones. And even teenagers are reluctant to miss out on the well-balanced buffet. For digestion or until all family members are ready, don't miss out on a round of table tennis. The littlest ones might prefer to run around the lawn in front of the hotel while their parents finish their coffee Sous les Marronniers.
Then it's off to explore: the Grotte Chauvet offers a pleasant way to cool off on hot days, and the interactive tour is interesting for all ages. And on the way home, make a detour to the small town of Barjac for a souvenir or two. Or ice-cream. Or crèpes.
Grotte ChauvetBack to the Montcaud park in the afternoon. A snack from the food truck, a few dips in the pool and a round of tennis on the court. And in between, you can lie comfortably on a lounger by the pool – bet you're finally reading a book again?
A hassle-free evening on the terrace of Bistro de Montcaud: lovers of simple dishes will be delighted to discover our children's menu, served with the starter or main course. Little gourmets eat from the grown-ups' menu and are of course also welcome in the fine-dining restaurant, Le Cèdre de Montcaud.
Bistro de MontcaudLe Cèdre de MontcaudAnother very green flag for family holidays at Château de Montcaud is the choice of family room options: let us put up an extra – comfy – bed or a baby cot in the parents' room. Or opt for a connecting door between two rooms for extra space. Extra luxury? Try our duplex suites for that certain something. Although you may just not leave the room then. There is no need to overpack, we have what you need: Baby bath and nappy pail for babies and toddlers, games and colouring materials for the kids, and thanks to stable WiFi connection, nothing stands in the way of a family film night in your room.
