Bistro de Montcaud
At Bistro de Montcaud we invite our guests to experience our philosophy of "the luxury of simplicity". Come as you are and savour a comforting bistronomic meal, prepared with fresh market produce, and very little extravagance. Surrounded by the estate's park, you will dine in the middle of nature on our fabulous terrace. Large windows bring the outside into the cosy interior, which in turn is temperature controlled for a cooling atmosphere in the hot summer months, and warmth at the open-fire in the winter.

Gourmet restaurant
Le Cèdre de Montcaud
Expect traditional French gourmet dishes at Le Cèdre de Montcaud, and prepare to be surprised by the twists our chef Matthieu Hervé adds to classic recipes. There is no printed menu, our chef will take you on a four- or seven-course culinary journey with his "blind-tasting" menus. Needless to say, any food allergies and intolerances will be taken into account. Our charming courtyard invites you to have your meal outside under the stars – weather permitting. Alternatively, our elegant dining-room with views of the park and the chateau is set for a memorable experience.

Matthieu Hervé
Executive chef Matthieu Hervé has been heading the kitchens of Château de Montcaud since its reopening in 2018, delighting hotel guests, and passing-by fine-dining enthousiasts. His cuisine sublimates seasonal ingredients, combining the clarity and freshness of his origins in Normandy with the sun-kissed flavours of Provence. Matthieu Hervé is the perfect fit to our vibrant historic chateau, as he likes adding a twist to classic dishes and thus combining the traditional French cuisine with modern elements.
Having acquired his knowledge and experience working under some of the greatest chefs in the world, at Château de Montcaud he is making his mark on the culinary scene. His talent has been recognized, and continues to be honoured by our esteemed guests as well as renowned institutions such as Gault&Millaut and Michelin - in 2024 he received his first Michelin star for our gourmet restaurant Le Cèdre de Montcaud.

Under the shade of the chestnut trees, to the beat of live music or the soothing song of the cicadas, chef Matthieu and his team serve up an assortment of delectable dishes to delight the whole family. Get your fill from the buffet of seafood platters, mature cheeses, homemade terrines, crisp salads, "à la minute" grilled meat, fish and vegetables...not to mention the assortment of mouthwatering desserts !

Feeling peckish while lounging by the pool? Our very own food truck "Eugène" has set up shop in the gardens of Château de Montcaud, serving as a mobile bar with refreshing drinks and a snack menu to satisfy your cravings!
The pool and the foodtruck are reserved to hotel guests.
